Northern Michigan University, design system for syllabi, project briefs, advising and ancillary material. I designed the project handouts and advising material for each of my classes. The students loved it, and this was my favorite iteration in my seven years of teaching at NMU. Content was highly organized and the design got the students excited about the semester.

I competed for and received a $25000 grant to set up a Letterpress and digital platemaking facility at Northern Michigan University in 2011. The letterpress has since become an integral part of the experience in the school of art and design at NMU. The school will be having its first letterpress exhibit at the DeVos Art Museum at NMU in Fall 2016 which I helped organize in collaboration with the gallery director, Melissa Matuscak.
As an associate professor at NMU, I taught 100- to 400-level undergraduate courses in design, focussing on typography, layout, data visualization and design for web and mobile. Also conducted academic advising and mentored students through junior review and senior thesis. Served on internal as well as external committees in the university and conducted research. I was awarded 4 internal grant awards, one of which was used to set up a letterpress printing studio as part of the design program. I was Awarded tenure and promotion in April 2014.
